High-ranking officials who follow the ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) agreed to resolve the conflict in South China Sea.
ASEAN countries hope, the problem of maritime security and sovereignty that often appear in the South China Sea region, including ASEAN countries namely Malaysia, Brunei, Philippines and Vietnam, for quickly resolved.
"Some countries have reached agreement early to attempt to resolve the conflict in the South China Sea," said Chairman of the Delegation of Indonesia in the ASEAN Regional Forum Security Policy Conference (ASPC), TNI Laksda Eris Heryanto, at the JW Marriott Hotel Surabaya, Malang Embong Road, on Wednesday (8 / 6 / 2011).
Heryanto said, even though Indonesia was not involved in the conflict in the South China Sea, but with other countries want peace and security in the ASEAN region.
He added that the ASEAN countries to assess, to address these problems, can not be solved by itself, need urun rembug from other countries.
"We must sit together, discuss together. That's who aka step in preparing to hold peace in the South China Sea region," he said.
On this occasion, is also preparing guidelines to encourage completion of the implementation of the declaration of the behavior of the China Sea (Declaration of the Conduct (DOC) of Parties in the South China Sea) and immediately set.
"Four countries and China itself has expressed its commitment to peace. The countries also want the implementation of the DOC present South China Sea immediately applied," he explained.
